“I’m delighted that we’ve reached this point, and now we have a beautiful car that gives us a great base to work from for the season ahead and a fighting chance of going racing in the right way, with a winning mentality,” said Mike Gascoyne.

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG is the Official F1 Safety Car for 2010

The 2010 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG has replaced last year’s SL 63 AMG and has been labeled as the brand new safety car of 2010. As the F1 season begins this year, we are most likely to see the best safety car that we have seen in quite a long time.

The SLS AMG safety car shall make its debut at Bahrain’s season opener on March 12. The car is scheduled to make an appearance on all the 19 races. The car is supposed to have the German Bernd Mayländer as its pilot, and will remain standby in the pit throughout the entire race. Maylander is himself a DTM race car driver and is a nice pick for the job.
